Antes de que el Moh\u00e1n se convirtiera en el centro de esta historia, hubo muchos monstruos.<\/p>\n

Durante a\u00f1os me fui encontrando con animaciones inspiradas en las mitolog\u00edas japonesa, n\u00f3rdica, irlandesa, mexicana y muchas otras, y me preguntaba por qu\u00e9 rara vez ve\u00eda el mismo inter\u00e9s por el folclore colombiano. Es tan rico y deliciosamente disparatado que al final sent\u00ed que, como m\u00ednimo, ten\u00eda que intentarlo.<\/p>\n

So I started sketching my way through its collection of ghosts, spirits and creatures: La Patasola, La Madremonte, La Candileja, La Llorona, Mar\u00eda la Larga, La Mel\u00f3n, El Silb\u00f3n, El Sombrer\u00f3n, La Tunda... the list is endless.<\/p>\n

Muchos existen para asustar. Algunos nacen de acontecimientos tr\u00e1gicos. Y bastantes ven\u00edan acompa\u00f1ados de historias mucho m\u00e1s oscuras que la pel\u00edcula que yo quer\u00eda hacer.<\/p>\n

Y entonces fue cuando encontr\u00e9 al Moh\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

A hairy river spirit, magician, troublemaker, smoker, drinker, musician and relentless nuisance to fishermen. Different regions tell very different stories about him, sometimes sinister and sometimes playful. He's been called a trickster, a shaman and a shape-shifter.<\/p>\n

That contradiction gave me \"permission\" to find my own version, and so the search ended.<\/p>\n
